ARTWORK TREATMENT

The software that I use for making this project is Adobe Photoshop. The technique that I use is photo collage. I kinda mix all the photo and arrange it. I also play with color to make it more alive. Some of the photo also been transparent some of them is in negative color.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My artwork is about the Cultural and Historical value of Penang. I decide to do it because Penang is rich with that value and all of the things that represent it shows a lot. The Cultural side I put some image that shows the Chinese culture. I also add the traditional house that shows the sentimental value. The temple show religious value of the Chinese people. Red color represent the Chinese community and shows prosperity. The History side on the other hand I put the historical building of Penang that have been there long long time ago. All of the mix of the historical building shows that Penang has lots of historical value that still well preserve by the government.

ASSIGNMENT 3 PHOTOS

Here is the photos that I captured and used for doing this project. The photos is actually a random shots that I took. The reason why I choose this certain photos because it shows the value and characteristic that I want for this project. The picture is already edited to enhance the color and the lighting.

I choose all of these photos because it shows the historical side of Penang.

The second set shows more of the culture in Penang. These photos show the old Chinese house that has been there for century. That shows how dominant they are at Penang. It also has the Temple where is the religious value and the beauty of their architecture in Chinese history.

ASSIGNMENT 3

 Historical and Culture, that's how I describe Penang. Penang shows lots of value that's shows something from the past that still shine 'till this modern age. For my artwork I decide to do a photo collage combining all of the historical and cultural value that I captured at the trip. Here's the some sketches for the building. At first I want to draw the building and make it as final artwork, but its seems like dead and no value in it.

ARTWORK TREATMENT ASSIGNMENT 2

It is all about environment and the beauty of it. For assignment 2, I decide to use some of my photos of environment to show the beauty of it. All of these photo I mesh it into typography. So, basically the typography is shown with the pictures inside it and it really shows the beauty and how colorful nature is. I used Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to create this artwork. For me I think the color of the typo that make this artwork more alive because as you can see, the color truly represent the nature and how beauty it is.

COMPOSITION FOR ASSIGNMENT 2

All of these three design it is the new composition for my Typography. I play around with the position of the typo so its look more interesting. I also rotate the word to give balance to the typography. Size also is arrange properly so its doesn't look odd. I'm still using the old typography because I want to show the beauty of nature that I add inside it.

OLD ONE

This is my previous work that I want to redo. The composition on the typography is too common and boring. For the new one I want to change the background and arrange the typo more creatively.

RESTART ASSIGNMENT 2

For my assignment 2 'The Typography' I decide to redo it and start doing it seriously. I've start gather the information that needed for a better Typography. Here's some example of my previous work on typography

ASSIGNMENT 2 TYPOGRAPHY

For Assignment I decide to stay with my Assignment 1 theme which is Environment. My idea is that I want to make a typography with pictures of nature behind it. I took all of these photo everywhere when I'm travelling. So, I'am thinking about using them for my Assignment. All of these photos I've cut them from their original photo to only get what I want for the project.

ARTWORK TREATMENT

My final artwork I manage to combine color paper and color pencil. I cut the color paper and design my artwork with it. The grass I use green paper to make the look more alive and more interesting. As the nature thing I color them and the man made this I just let it be as dull as possible. That is because I want people to know that nature is more alive and more important than the man made.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Welcome to Media Arts. This is my first assignment for Media Arts class. The assignment wants us to make our current issues as an art. I choose environment because I think it is important for our future generation to look and feel how beautiful it is. I'am focusing on destruction in our environment. As you can see we are not the only living things on this planet. We share this planet with some other creatures that also need as same things as ours. On my sketches, I draw a few scene that shows Animal and plants cannot lives in our environment and how not save it is. I use colorful paper to create the natural things and leave the man made things black and white. This shows how alive nature is and the need us to protect them.

FINAL ARTWORK

This is actually how my final artwork looks like. My idea is that I want all the natural things to be in color and the man made things black and white. This shows that how alive nature is.

 My artwork is actually about an Elephant hugging a tree with its trunk and this shows that the elephant don't want to let go of the nature.

The second one shows that a group of animal protecting or not leaving the tree while city is growing around them.

ASSIGNMENT 1 IDEATION

 This is my mind map or my ideas on 'The Environment'. My idea is that I want to list all of the things related to nature, wildlife, things that other creature suffer that we don't know. This is the first one and I'll add more to this one.

The second one is the good and bad effects of 'Logging'. By this one I actually more clear about the list that can be done with this mind map

This is my expression for the first exercise. The picture actually represent me. I always want to be free like everyone, without people telling you what to do, or where to go. But with the freedom I also heading to the same place like anyone else.
